Scratch Games

Totem Lottery Scratch Ticket GamesTotem Technologies designs and produces scratch games for both new and licensed intellectual properties and brands.  Our scratch games are played in both lottery and advertising markets.

In cooperation with global printing partners, Totem Technologies can deliver printed scratch games to any location, in any country, at any time.  Our fully-computerized, in-line web presses can handle both high volume and sample volume orders on demand.

Totem Technologies currently has 10 instant games (also referred to as an instant ticket, scratch card, scratch off, scratch ticket, scratcher, scratchie, scratch-it, scratch game, scratch-and-win, or instant lottery) which are played on small tickets, usually made of heavy paper stock and ranging from 2”x4” to 6”x4” in size, which contain one or more areas with concealed information covered by an opaque substance that can be scratched off. When the ticket is scratched, the consumer has the opportunity to win cash, a prize of a specific value, or sometimes a replacement ticket. Instant games are played from a set of predetermined outcomes. However, the order in which winning tickets appear within any one set of tickets is determined randomly under a highly-secured printing process. Because winning tickets are predetermined, the computerized method of randomizing a set of finite ticket outcomes is done in such a way that not even employees of the printing process are able to determine which tickets might be the winners. The amount wagered on an instant game is typically a denomination of local currency, because most lotteries require cash payment of wagers. In the United States, common wagers are $1, $2, $5, $10, and $20. Some other denominations have been tried but remain small-volume games.
